We need Streetfighters for each road 🥊💡
As we wind down for December, it gives us some time to look around our street after a busy year. One of the challenges is always time. Well now is the time to do your part and start taking our streets back one faulty light at a time. We need some streetfighters.
Your mission (should you choose to accept it): Please we need it!
- Take a walk/drive down your road at night
- Make a note of any street lights that are:
- Completely off
- Flickering like a horror movie
- On during the day but sleeping at night 😏
- Log a fault for each one so it can be fixed or replaced on the Ethekwini app and post the Ref Fault Number in the Group. We will keep track of the lights that dont work and follow up with the Municipality until resolved and share as each light road by road is fixed.
How to log a faulty street light via the eThekwini App
1️⃣ Stand at the pole and note the address + pole number and what’s wrong (off at night / flickering / broken, etc.).
2️⃣ Open the eThekwini Municipal App → tap Complaints → Create Complaint.
3️⃣ Select Electricity → read the notice and tap OK.
4️⃣ Choose Streetlight Faults.
5️⃣ Drop a pin on the map or type the exact address, then confirm.
6️⃣ In the description, include the pole number and fault details.
7️⃣ Tap Create Complaint / Submit.
8️⃣ Keep the reference number for follow-up
