Update 07/02/2026

Mission Accomplished: Making Woodlands Avenue Safer!

We are thrilled to announce that the "Burning Bush" project is officially complete! This has been a top priority for our community for a long time, and we’ve finally turned that vision into a reality. Our goal was simple: ensure every resident feels safe and secure when turning into Woodlands Avenue, preventing accidents and keeping our families out of harm's way.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Team

This achievement was a true team effort. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to those who led the charge and stayed true to their promise:

  • The Participators: A massive thank you to Natasha and her daughter, Sagie Govender, and Ethan assisting this morning in finishing the clean-up and assisting to haul the Bush to the Bellair DSW Dump.
  • The Drivers: Our incredible administrators—Vishal Kanhai, Bronwynne Batstone, and Marvin Naicker—for their tireless work in seeing this through to completion. Coordinating behind the scenes, getting hands on, spending their Saturday morning in the heat to make our community safter.
  • The Hands-On Heroes: Special thanks to Shane Singh for her hard work during the week helping clear the brush, and to Daniel Reddy for stepping up and offering his support. We need more heroes like you.
  • Quiet Heroes - Thank you to Percy, Sbu and Marvins Driver who played an important role in making this happen with their labour and driving.

It Takes a Village

To everyone who participated in any way, big or small: Thank you. This project is a beautiful reminder that our community thrives when we take ownership of it. We all call this neighborhood "home," and by bringing all hands on deck, we aren't just clearing bushes—we're building a brighter, safer future together. .

Can you still afford to Spectate?

Now its over to you to identify the next burning issue and start within your street. Let’s keep this momentum going! Lets not talk but walk the walk. Secondly real change starts when you include the next generation to inculcate a culture of Civic Duty and less dependence for the world they are going grow up in.
